How to Choose the Right Wedding Photographer

You want to look back on your wedding photographs with fondness and love, so choosing the right photographer is crucial.  Spending a bit of time carefully researching your options will give you the gorgeous reminder of your day that you want.

Assuming that all of the choices on your list have wedding photography experience, here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Check their style.  Each photographer will have a particular approach; be it traditional, candid, personal or otherwise, so you can match their approach to your preference.  This should whittle down your list.
  • At this point, you may want to meet a few photographers to get a feel for how they work and how they’ll communicate with you.  It’s important to get the right vibe from the photographer that you choose.  Will they be able to direct people into the right poses in a friendly and cheerful way?  Are they patient with children?
  • When you meet a photographer that seems right for you, it’s time to check out the details.  Find out if there are fixed price packages and make sure you understand exactly what you are getting.
  • Above all, make sure you get everything in writing.  This should ensure that you will receive memories to treasure.
